Jamie Baillie says Bain’s experience will be benefit to next PC government
BRAS d’OR, NS – Local businessman and former PC MLA Keith Bain will be the Progressive Conservative Party’s candidate in Victoria-The Lakes in the next provincial election.
Bain was officially acclaimed the party’s standard bearer in the constituency on Wednesday, May 25.
“Improving the economy of Cape Breton so we can pay for strong social services in areas like healthcare and education will be my top priority. I will put my own experiences in business and government to work to help make the Progressive Conservative vision for Nova Scotia a reality in Cape Breton,” said Bain. “I look forward to working hard once again for the people of Victoria-The Lakes. Together, I know we can achieve great things.”
Bain says the McNeil government is not making the right decisions to support the people of Cape Breton.
“We have major gaps in our healthcare system with mental health issues being neglected and a critical shortage of doctors on the Island,” said Bain. “We need a strong economy so we can direct resources into making the system work for everyone and we need a leader who knows how to make it happen. Jamie Baillie and the Progressive Conservatives have a vision and a long-term plan for Nova Scotia. A strong Cape Breton will play a large part in that vision.”
Baillie says he’s excited about Bain’s candidacy and his return to the Progressive Conservative Caucus.
“Keith has been a success in business and he was a great representative for the people of Victoria-The Lakes,” said Baillie. “His experience will be of great benefit in the next PC government.”
The Victoria-The Lakes Progressive Conservative Association will hold an official nomination meeting which will be scheduled to celebrate Bain’s candidacy in the coming weeks.
