Baillie says White’s senior advocacy experience perfect fit for a PC government
BEDFORD, NS – Former Nova Scotia Seniors’ Secretariat, Department of Seniors CEO and high-profile seniors’ advocate, Valerie White, will be the Progressive Conservative Party’s candidate in Bedford in the next provincial election.
White was officially acclaimed the party’s standard bearer in the constituency on Tuesday, June 7.
“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to represent the people of Bedford as the PC candidate,” says White. “Bedford has a very strong sense of community and it deserves strong representation in the Legislature.”
White says she has heard from many people who are disillusioned with Premier McNeil and his Liberal government. She is confident that PC leader Jamie Baillie has the experience and leadership skills necessary to propel the province forward.
“Jamie Baillie understands the challenges that are facing our province,” says White. “But he also sees the opportunities and advantages our province has and knows how we can capitalize upon our strengths. I am proud to be a part of the team trying to bring about positive momentum in Nova Scotia.”
Baillie says he’s excited about White’s candidacy and knows that she will be a strong advocate for seniors in the Progressive Conservative Caucus.
“White has years of experience advocating on behalf of seniors in this province,” said Baillie. “Her experience will be of great benefit in the next PC government.”
The Bedford Progressive Conservative Association will hold an official nomination meeting which will be scheduled to celebrate White’s candidacy in the coming weeks.
